Republican congressman Joe Walsh had a bit of a meltdown during a meeting with constituents in a Chicago suburb on Sunday. Although the “Cup of Joe with Joe Walsh” event covered a wide variety of topics, Rep. Walsh, a tea party favorite, apparently got testy with one gentleman in the audience who steered the conversation toward big banks.
The Huffington Post reports that the man asked about the lack of regulation in the financial industry, leading another audience member to make reference to the “revolving door” between the banks and the inner circles of Washington politics.
In response, Rep. Walsh screamed “don’t blame the banks … that pisses me off,” and went on to argue that government, not private industry, created the financial crisis.
