I was just handed this note in reply, which I pass along without further comment.
Dear Mr. Gregory:
Apology not accepted.
We think you meant exactly what you said, and we demand you prove otherwise.
We will henceforth proceed under the assumption that you’re guilty of our accusation, until you prove to our satisfaction that you’re innocent.
Keep in mind that a mere denial of this very serious charge will simply raise more questions than it answers.
