Yelp, through its recent iPhone update, took a humorous stab at Texas Governor Rick Perry following the Wednesday CNBC Republican Presidential debate.

Yelp, a social networking website that allows users to review local businesses, released its iOS 5.4.3 update Thursday.

The update’s product description includes a reference to Perry’s now famous failure to recall the third of three federal agencies he would eliminate as president: “And let’s see. I can’t — the third one — I can’t. Sorry.”

The Yelp update said:

“There are three types of bugs that are now gone:
– Bookmarks-related bugs
– iOS5 styling & layout bugs
– And the umm… uh, what’s the third one? Let’s see… Bookmarks, iOS layout, and the um… the third one we can’t recall. Oops”

Perry’s gaffe brought an eruption of  responses from viewers on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks.

Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppleman appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee in September to testify about Google’s alleged anticompetitive behavior toward his company.

“The experience in my industry is telling,” testified Stoppleman, “Google forces review websites to provide their content for free to benefit Google’s own competing product – not consumers.”
