Texas Rep. Ron Paul, who placed third in Tuesday’s Iowa caucuses, beamed about his campaign’s future in an evening speech after his placement became apparent.

“This momentum is going to continue, this movement is going to continue and we are going to keep scoring just as we have tonight,” he said. “So tonight we have come out of an election that has, essentially, three winners, three top vote getters, and we will go on and we will raise the money.”

“I have no doubt about volunteers,” Paul added. “They’re going to be there.”

Paul also basked in how issues that he’s known for — like opposing the Federal Reserve, promoting civil liberties and opposing foreign wars — have become more mainstream in national political debates.

“How is the best way to promote a cause? Win an election,” Paul said. “Thousands have been involved not only in Iowa but around the country. They’re ready and raring to go but we have to look at wonderful change that’s occurred in our country in a positive way.”
