Iowa caucuses vote closely mirrored establishment media coverage, study reveals

Social media analysis leading up to the Iowa caucuses strongly indicated that Texas Rep. Ron Paul was the favored candidate.

A study by social media consultancy firm Sociagility, however, found that the actual results of the Iowa caucuses more closely mirrored how many times a candidate was mentioned by the media in the days leading up to the election.

An analysis of Facebook, YouTube and Twitter by Socialagility revealed that only “Facebook could be said to have vaguely mirrored the final result on the day of the vote.”
