Mega-radio talk show host Mark Levin is a professional communicator with a well-thought out and informed worldview. It is only natural to think that someone with those skills and a passion for political debate would consider a run for national office.

But in an extensive interview with The Daily Caller, Levin said he has no intention of ever making the jump into national elective politics.

“Years ago when I was young, I considered, ‘well, maybe I’d wanted to be a senator one day.’ I don’t think so,” he said.

“I actually think that, from my perspective, I can have more influence, get more information out there than any single United States Senator. “

“Plus, to be honest with you, I don’t want to deal with phone calls asking me about missed Social Security checks and everything like that,” he added.

“I’ve reached a point where I would probably say to that person, ‘well get off your ass and go get it.’”

Check TheDC Monday and Tuesday for more of the interview in which Levin discusses his new book “Ameritopia” and gives his perspective on the Republican primary race.
