A spokesperson from Mitt Romney has confirmed to The Daily Caller that the former Massachusetts Gov. called Rick Santorum on Thursday to “congratulate him” on the updated Iowa Caucus results.
While the original returns showed Romney defeating the former Pennsylvania senator by eight votes, an updated total showed Santorum winning by 34 votes in the Hawkeye State on Jan. 3. The Iowa GOP confirmed the updated results on Thursday.
Santorum spokesman Hogan Gidley told CNN that Romney was very “polite” on the call.
