Andy Andrews has written 23 books, but until now none has been about politics. “How Do You Kill 11 Million People?” is a brisk 15-minute read, a wake-up call to Americans about the power of truth and lies in the public square. The hardest part about reading it might be figuring out which of your friends to pass it to afterward.

Andrews doesn’t mention Republicans or Democrats, and he doesn’t craft liberal-vs-conservative arguments. Instead he asks a simple question: What was it like to experience, firsthand, a highly civilized culture with well-educated citizens who were somehow deceived by Hitler, or Stalin, or any other ruthless authoritarian who murdered millions of innocent people?

The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas caught up with Andy in Washington, D.C. last week and asked him to discuss journalism, political correctness, the Washington culture of deceit and his new book’s purpose.
