PITTSBURGH — Sidney Crosby skated with two other injured Pittsburgh Penguins teammates for the second successive day Tuesday as the team awaits the findings of an independent physician’s diagnosis of their star’s injuries.

Crosby worked out again with defenseman Simon Despres, forward Jordan Staal and conditioning coach Mike Kadar before the Penguins’ pregame morning skate. Staal and Despres are healing from knee injuries.

Crosby learned last week while visiting with specialists in Utah and California that he injured his neck at some point in addition to sustaining a concussion. The injury to the top two vertebrae in Crosby’s neck has since healed, according to Dr. Robert S. Bray, a neurological spine specialist based in Los Angeles.
