INDIANAPOLIS – With Super Bowl XLVI in town, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay and on-the-mend quarterback Peyton Manning have put a lid on exchanges over Manning’s uncertain future.
Fans are wondering if quarterback Peyton Manning will return with the Colts next season.
If only it were that easy for everyone else.
Irsay spoke Monday at a news conference held by the Super Bowl Host Committee, which has been preparing for the game between the New York Giants, quarterbacked by Peyton’s younger brother Eli, and the New England Patriots.
“Obviously the media’s been very hungry for comments,” Irsay said. ” … We want the focus to be on the game. He’s excited about Eli, having his whole family coming in, and hosting the game. That’s where the focus should be.”
But much of the focus remains on where Peyton will be — and whether he will be able to play.
