National pancake day? IHOP has competition for national food holidays

While IHOP glorified Tuesday by giving away free flapjacks on what it called “National Pancake Day,” the Glendale, Calif. company hasn’t cornered the market on special days for food.

When The Daily Caller reached out to IHOP to find out where we could get our syrup on, company representatives were unavailable. We’re assuming all the publicity made them peckish.

So instead of singing the praises of blueberry, chocolate chip, or Mickey Mouse-ears griddle cakes, let’s look at some of the hundreds of other foods that have their own national “holidays.” Here are just a few. Hope you’re hungry!
