Vehicles in Vice President Joe Biden‘s motorcade ran idle outside of a Senate office building on Tuesday for over one hour.

The Daily Caller arrived outside of the Russell Senate office building at 2:30 p.m. to see if Biden would stop for the press following the “Friends of Ireland” luncheon on Capitol Hill when the vehicles were running. (RELATED: White House rewrites Biden’s audacious claim)

Biden departed at 3:40 p.m. and did not take questions but waved to tourists, saying “Happy St. Patrick’s Day.”

President Barack Obama addressed the luncheon, calling Biden “our top Irishman in the White House” and House Speaker John Boehner a “gracious host.”

The event comes before Obama embarks on a trip to a solar power plant in Nevada and an oil field in New Mexico. He will also visit Oklahoma and Ohio, where he will deliver an energy speech.
