SANFORD, Fla. – After organizers of a Monday afternoon march ran into trouble keeping the crowds under control and getting Trayvon Martin’s family at the front of the march, civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson showed up late.

Organizers halted the entire march for several minutes while Jackson finally appeared, and joined protesters at the front of the crowd. After Jackson undid his tie and posed for a few media photos, the march restarted. Former Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson also showed up late to the march, right around the time Jackson appeared.

MSNBC host the Rev. Al Sharpton was so late to the rally he didn’t even march with protesters. He just gave remarks to the city council.

Jeremy Gaines, a MSNBC spokesman, did not respond to a request for more information about why Sharpton was so late that he couldn’t even march with protesters.
