Football season might be over, but the Tim Tebow jokes just keep coming.

During the opening segment of the Academy of Country Music Awards hosted by country singers Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire Sunday night, Shelton took a dig at Tebow, the former Denver Bronco quarterback who was recently traded to the New York Jets, for his pure reputation.

MCENTIRE: There’s been a lot of changes this year.
SHELTON: You’re telling me. Peyton Manning is now a Denver Bronco!
MCENTIRE: And Tim Tebow is a New York Jet.
SHELTON: I guess the Broncos were so anxious to win another Super Bowl, that they were actually willing to sacrifice a virgin.

The pair briefly delved into the rumor that Tebow supposedly went on a date with country star Taylor Swift.

“Yeah, now we know what he’s been praying for,” said Shelton.

A few of the GOP presidential candidates also took heat from the duo.

While marveling at the fact that country singer Kenny Chesney had nine nominations for ACM awards, Shelton joked that “poor Newt Gingrich can’t get one.” Shelton went on to scoff at former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s supposed favorite country music singer.

“I hear Mitt Romney listens to music on his campaign bus, and he says his favorite country singer is Keith Urban,” McEntire said. “Yeah! What do you think about that?”

“I think he just lost my vote,” Shelton responded.
