It’s not an April Fool’s joke: Sarah Palin really is co-hosting the Today Show tomorrow

That’s right, she’s infiltrating the “lamestream media.” Alexandra Myers reports:

Katie Couric is not the only big name coming to morning TV this week. NBC announced that Sarah Palin will co-host “Today” on Tuesday morning. The announcement says that “[Palin will] reveal a different side of her than you’ve seen before.”

“Good Morning America” announced last week that Couric will step in for Robin Roberts the week of April 2.

Couric vs. Palin, Round 2? Palin should ask every single guest which newspapers they read, and demand they prove that their own children really belong to them. Hey, that’s how journalism is done.

Palin called into the show this morning:

So, expect plenty of barely veiled, passive-aggressive mutual contempt. And huge ratings.

P.S. While she’s there, maybe she can get to the bottom of this:

NBC disclosed today that it will be launching an internal investigation into a segment about the Trayvon Martin case that appeared on the Today show, in which a call between George Zimmerman and a 911 dispatcher prior to Martin’s death was edited in such a way that it portrays Zimmerman as a racial profiler. The editorial decision under review involves the removal of the dispatcher’s inquiry about the race of the person Zimmerman was following — Martin. Absent that question, Zimmerman’s comments get strung together as if he said, in sequence, “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”

The full transcript:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.

Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?

Zimmerman: He looks black.

So, yeah, that’s a little different than how they portrayed it. But remember: People like Sarah Palin are the problem.
