Obnoxiously untalented pop star Ke$ha surprisingly reads the news.

The “Tik Tok” singer tweeted her support Monday for a Maryland state Senate bill that prohibits the possession or sale of shark fins.

She posted: “Maryland Senate votes to ban the sale of shark fins! ANIMALS – Keep up the pressure to stop this cruel practice!!!”

The bill passed the Maryland Senate last week, and will go to the House Environmental Matters Committee.

“Maryland will join four Pacific states…in similar actions to provide critical protection to sharks and preserve the health of the world’s ocean ecosystems by banning the possession, sale, trade and distribution of shark fins,” the Humane Society says on its website.

For someone who has a dollar sign in her name, Ke$ha is surprisingly passionate for animal rights. She joins a coalition of celebrities like Bo Derek, Leonardo DiCaprio and Edward Norton who have spoken out against the demand for shark fins.
