Following in the footsteps of the Justin Bieber’s hit concert-documentary, pop singer Katy Perry is releasing her own movie. “Katy Perry: Part of Me” will document her personal life on and off the stage, and give fans an inside look into her 2011 California Dreams Tour.

The movie is named after her new single, “Part of Me,” which was released in February after her divorce from ex-husband Russell Brand.  Although the single’s music video was controversial for depicting Perry as a Marine, the song debuted at number on Billboard’s Hot 100.

A trailer for Perry’s movie includes details into “her religious upbringing, her struggles and pressures becoming a pop star, her marriage breakup with actor Russell Brand, as well as tour footage, including her telling the audience, ‘Thank you so much for believing in my weirdness,'” Reuters reports.

Perry, 27, said that she is excited to “reveal the highs and lows and nuts of bolts of this extraordinary ride. I promise you, after seeing this film, you will truly know me.”

Paramount and directors Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth also co-produced the Biebs’ movie, “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,” which racked in $100 million.

Perry’s film is set to release in the United States on July 5.
