The game ended early Wednesday night for Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love when he got a mild concussion after a Denver Nuggets player unintentionally elbowed him.

Love was helped off the floor by medical personnel after a blow to the head when Nugget center JaVale McGee went down the lane for an attempted jumper.

“It was pretty bad, but hopefully he’ll be all right,” said Timberwolves guard  J.J. Barea. “As soon as he got hit, I knew he was out. He was talking, but he wasn’t all there, though,” the Associated Press reports.

Love is the leader on the team and is the NBA’s top scorer since the All Star break, averaging nearly 30 points and leading the league in rebounds and free throws.

Despite Love’s early exit, the Timberwolves rallied back from a 24 point deficit to nearly win the game. But the Nuggets sealed the deal, winning 113-107.

“Kevin is our go-to guy,” Derrick Williams told the AP. “He’s the heart of our team.”

Love was taken to a hospital where he remained overnight for observation.
