Such is the pre-draft life of Robert Griffin III, that he found himself on the Fox & Friends TV show in New York Tuesday morning smiling beside a 3-foot high bust of himself. It was made out of 30 pounds of Subway’s new smokehouse barbeque chicken — with a big smile and peppers doubling as his braids.

The Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from Baylor is expected to go No.2 in the 2012 NFL draft to the Washington Redskins when the event kicks off Thursday night.

That kind of status gets you a chicken bust via his endorsement deal with Subway (he’s also signed with adidas).

“It’s a bit crazy, but the smokehouse barbeque chicken statue is pretty cool. We like to call it RGIII½,” Griffin said in a phone interview after the Fox appearance.

He’s never seen a Pro Football Hall of Fame bust in Canton, Ohio. Long-suffering Redskins fans are hoping he’s destined for one.
