1.) Obama may lose the Democratic primaryIn Arkansas that is. After narrowly besting a federal inmate in the West Virginia Democratic primary, President Obama is just up 7 points on a no-name candidate in the Arkansas Democratic primary, reports TheDC’s Alex Pappas:

“You haven’t heard of John Wolfe because the obscure Democratic candidate for president has raised less than $500, can’t afford radio or TV ads and hasn’t gotten much press. Yet miraculously, a poll released this week shows Wolfe trailing President Barack Obama in the Arkansas Democratic primary — occurring next week — by just seven points.”

This is just embarrassing for the president. The primary takes place Tuesday.

2.) For Obama’s budget, zero’s the magic number — In the Democrat-controlled Senate, President Obama’s budget was voted down Wednesday, but boy was it a squeaker. TheDC’s Neil Munro reports:

“As expected, Obama’s budget got zero votes when it was offered by GOP senators who were seeking to highlight the unpopularity of Obama’s policies. Just after 4 p.m., 99 senators voted against Obama’s budget, marking another embarrassment for the White House. Obama’s virtual budget was introduced by Sen. Jeff Sessions, the GOP’s budget leader in the Senate. Early this year, White House officials drafted a bare-bones budget request, but neither they nor their allied Democratic senators have developed a complete budget package for debate in the Senate since 2009.”

Well, at least there’s nowhere to go but up for the president on budget matters.

3.) Jonah Goldberg, man for violenceJonah Goldberg stood up for violence Wednesday, reports TheDC’s Michelle Fields:

“National Review Online editor Jonah Goldberg spoke Wednesday about how ‘violence solves all sorts of problems’ and argued against the critique that Jesus was a pacifist. ‘Violence solves all sorts of problems,’ Jonah said earlier, ‘particularly violent problems. World War II was a problem, Nazis were a problem, and we beat that problem through violence. Slavery ended through violence. Holocaust ended through violence.'”

Goldberg then challenged all the critics of his book to a duel.

4.) Elizabeth Warren’s Emails Revealed! In another outstanding satirical exclusive, TheDC’s Jamie Weinstein (ME!) and Will Rahn got their hands on emails between Democratic Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren and Ted “Tomahawk Teddy” O’Connell of Cherokee Ted’s Resort and Casino. In the fictional exchange, Teddy tries to answer Warren’s inquiries about procuring evidence of her Indian ancestry, which she has recently been called into question:

“Howdy Hao Sister Liz, It seems like you’re in quite the predicament! Fortunately, I think we at Cherokee Ted’s Resort and Casino can be of service. We offer several special packages, but the one I think the one you might be interested in is the Authentic Cherokee Warrior Weekend. For $325.99 for the weekend, you and a companion will get a room, full access to the resort and casino, a special headdress, face paint and — perhaps most importantly for you — an authentic “I’m a Ted’s Cherokee Warrior” certificate and t-shirt. For an extra $25, we can upgrade you to the “chief” package, which includes priority access to the buffet reserved for the tribe’s most revered sages.”

Read the whole thing. You’ll laugh, cry and learn to love all over again.

5.) Poll of the Day: Plurality of Americans think Facebook will fade away — AP-CNBC poll asks, “Do you think Facebook is likely to continue to be a successful company over the long term, or do you think it’s likely to fade away as new things come along?”: 46% say “likely to fade away,” 43% say “successful over the long term,” while 10% are unsure.
