A new phenomenon is sweeping across Britain, as experts predict bestseller “Fifty Shades of Grey” will become its own population boost.

The book, credited for spicing up love lives around the world, is now predicted to be the catalyst for a baby boom in Britain, the Daily Mail reported.

“With the millions of copies it has sold — it makes complete sense to assume that in nine months time we are going see a baby boom,” said Staffordshire University’s Ellis Cashmore. “By the very nature of the subject matter I’m sure we can expect to see some couple’s revisiting and reigniting ideas that may have lay dormant for some time in the bedroom.”

The book has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide, surpassing bestsellers like Dan Brown’s “The DaVinci Code” and even JK Rowling’s “Harry Potter” series.

Because of the raunchy nature of “Fifty Shades,” Cashmore predicts there will be a spike in the number of newborns as couples race to the bedroom to pounce on their newly awakened passions.

“It is very sexy book, from what I have read, nothing too over the top graphically — but it has struck a chord by exploring the women’s mind in sexual situations, from their point of view,” he said.

Since the novel exploded onto the scene this year, expectant readers have flocked to parenting web sites, claiming their babies will be part of the 50 Shades boom, and dubbing their offspring as “Fifty Shades babies.”

“My baby will be a Fifty Shades baby for sure. And I am damn proud of it,” one user wrote on Baby Centre, an online forum.
