A Jordanian legislator is under investigation for drawing his gun on live television.

Mohammed Shawabka threw a shoe and waved his pistol at Mansour Seif-Eddine Murad during a talk show discussion about Syria’s uprising and Jordanian politics.

The fight started after Shawbka accused Murad of being a spy for Syrian President Bashar Assad, later adding, “you’re a Mossad agent,” referring to the Israeli spy agency, The Associated Press reports.

“He was going to shoot me and he should be punished for that,” Murad said.

Murad, an outspoken activist who supports Arab nationalist groups that support Assad’s defiance of “Western colonialism,” is a former Palestinian guerilla fighter who was jailed for his role in an attack on an Israeli airline’s office in Athens, Greece, that killed a child.

The AP noted that Arabic language television has a reputation of booking guests with radically different views and intemperate reputations.

Mohammed Habashna, the host who was sitting between the guests, attempted to diffuse the situation by shouting “calm down.”

“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” Habashna said. “It was like the Wild West, but we needed horses in the studio.”

Here’s video of the altercation, from YouTube user ViralGlobalNews:
