He may want country girls to shake it for him, but not before he shows respect for our nation’s pastime.
Country singer Luke Bryan sang the National Anthem at the Major League Baseball’s All-Star game in Kansas City, Mo. Tuesday, but had to refer to the famous lyrics written on his hand.
It also appears Bryan became bored halfway through his performance, since he appeared to glance at his watch while he was singing.
Bryan posted an apology on Twitter following the performance after critics took to social media to decry his performance, “If I offended anyone with my approach I sincerely apologize. Anytime I sing the anthem it is an honor and my heart beats out of my chest.”
He also explained why he glanced at his watch, “I did check my watch because I knew the stealth bomber would fly over 2 minutes in and I knew a started a little late.”
