I remember ABC’s Brian Ross as the reporter who slimed Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean on the eve of the crucial Iowa caucus — on the grounds that a trooper who worked for him when he was Vermont’s governor had “engaged in acts of domestic violence” that Dean didn’t know about when he wrote the guy a character reference in a custody dispute.
