CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Security restrictions prohibit members of the broadcast media from filming in the area around the outdoor MSNBC tent at the Democratic National Convention.

When The Daily Caller attempted to interview Maryland Democratic Rep. Chris Van Hollen behind the MSNBC tent on the concrete walkway, security officers said that media is not able to film in the entire outdoor area.

Businesses like CVS Pharmacy and Moe’s Southwest Grill border the area where the MSNBC set is located at 210 East Trade Street in Charlotte. They are open for business.

The Daily Caller was checked by security Tuesday at the street entrance and granted access to the premises with camera equipment and convention credentials, but was stopped later by security working inside.

The Daily Caller spotted delegates on the premises shooting video on their cameras and taking photographs.
