He’s got 99 problems, but the New York City subway fare ain’t one.
Jay-Z, the Brooklyn-born hip-hop mogul reportedly worth $500 million, surprised fans and public transportation users alike as he rode the R train to his concert Saturday night, The Huffington Post reports.
According to commuters, Jay-Z entered the Canal Street station around 6:00 p.m. and rode it to Atlantic Avenue where he performed the last of eight sold-out concerts at the new $1 billion Barclays Center.
Twitter user AconDEMAND took photos and tweeted, “So I’m in the train station minding my own business and Jay Z walks by. Wtf.”
Other celebrities who have surprised the public by using plebeian transportation include Beyonce, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Madonna, as well as the odd-couple of Clay Aiken and Tyra Banks, who for some reason, rode the subway together.
