NASCAR driver Jeff Gorden cut off Clint Bowyer in one of the last laps at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, setting off a brawl between the two drivers’ pit crews.
The two drivers have been at odds with each other all season, reports Fox Sports.
Gordon explained his intentional crash into Bowyer’s car, saying, “Clint has run into me numerous times, wrecked me, and he got into me on the back straightaway and pretty much ruined our day. I’ve had it, fed up with it and I got him back.”
The two crews had to be separated, and both drivers, crew chiefs and team owners were called to meet with NASCAR officials after the race. NASCAR has yet to announce potential punishments.
