Joe Biden can’t be a racist because he’s a Democrat

Alex Pappas reports:

Vice President Joe Biden on Sunday proclaimed that he’s a “homeboy” that victims of Hurricane Sandy can continue to count on for assistance as they recover from the storm.

“So as the president said when he was up here with the governor, we’re not going anywhere,” Biden said Sunday in New Jersey after visiting the area, according to a pool report. “We’re not — not — going anywhere. And you’ve got a homeboy in the deal who gets it.”

Biden, the former U.S. senator from Delaware, was apparently emphasizing his ties to the area when he made the remarks.

That’s probably it. It couldn’t be that he’s a racist, despite all the racist stuff he’s said his entire life in public service, because shut up.

I don’t need to ask you to imagine what the reaction would be if, say, Paul Ryan had said this. Or if Sarah Palin told hurricane victims she was their “homegirl.” Or if any other critic of Obama said anything like this, for that matter. You already know what would happen. The firestorm of criticism would be instant and it would burn for days, if not weeks.

But hey, the dimwitted old white guy who’s a heartbeat away from the presidency says he’s your “homeboy.” Big deal. It’s not like he’s a Republican.
