It seems we can always count on TLC for the stupification of America.

Continuing with its tradition of airing fine television programming such as “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” “Dance Moms,” “Extreme Couponing” and “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding,” the cable network has ordered a pilot for series called “Best Funeral Ever.”

Seriously.

The series will focus on Golden Gate Funerals, a Dallas-based funeral home that specializes in bizarre memorials and unusual send-offs.

“Examples include a Christmas-inspired funeral complete with reindeer, elves and snow, and a singer known for his famous rib sauce jingle remembered at a BBQ-themed funeral — including live pigs, praise dancers, and a BBQ sauce fountain where loved ones dip a ceremonious rib to say goodbye,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
