The new film “FrackNation” reveals what ordinary citizens who are excited by the potential fracking presents are up against.

Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing, has enabled Americans to tap deep underground gas deposits throughout the country. This presents the opportunity for a modern-day gold rush that could help bring America energy independence, prosperity, jobs and enhanced national security.

But in “FrackNation” — which will air Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on AXS-TV — directors Phelim McAleer and his wife Ann McElhinney show how left-wing activists, media elites, Hollywood and environmental groups are trying to suffocate this energy revolution in its crib.

In a recent interview with TheDC’s Ginni Thomas, the Irish-born McElhinney discussed her new film, Hollywood’s campaign against fracking, the importance of Twitter and much more.
