President Barack Obama to Steve Kroft on Benghazi: $#!+ happens, LOL

Font Size:

I didn’t watch the lovefest between President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on 60 Minutes last night, because 1) It was on 60 Minutes, and 2) It was President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

But as it turns out, it wasn’t a complete waste of time. The One was kind enough to explain Benghazi for us:

One of the things, you know, that humbles you as president — I’m sure Hillary feels the same way as Secretary of State — is that you realize that all you can do every single day is to figure out, um, a direction. Make sure that you are working as hard as you can to put people in place where they can succeed… [Etc., etc.]

You know, I remember Bob Gates, you know, first thing he said to me, I think maybe first week or two, and he, obviously, been through seven presidents or something. And he says, “Mr. President, one thing I can guarantee you is that at this moment, somewheres, somehow, somebody in the federal government is screwin’ up.” [Laughter]

First things first: Does anybody actually believe that President Barack Obama has been humbled by his time in office? Or, for that matter, by anything else?

And let’s remember that this is the president who has never encountered a problem that he doesn’t think he can solve with more government. He wants to be involved in every single decision you make every single day, but he doesn’t want to bear any responsibility when something goes wrong. That’s who he is. He wants all of the power and none of the responsibility.

This is the New Normal, then. Four Americans are murdered by Islamic terrorists on the anniversary of 9/11. The Obama administration abandons them and lies about their own incompetence and negligence, actually blaming the whole thing on some amateur filmmaker exercising his First Amendment rights.

And then… nothing. No consequences whatsoever. They have a laugh about it with one of their good little party apparatchiks at CBS News.

What difference does it make?

Four more years.
