Not All Muslims accused of embezzling millions from non-profits

Just one Muslim. Remember the “Ground Zero Imam”? Remember how you were called a racist for suspecting he wasn’t on the up-and-up? Remember how our friends on the other side of the aisle took a break from their incessant mockery of Christians to declare their support for religious liberty, as if religious liberty was somehow in danger because we thought it was a bad idea to build a supermosque within the debris field of 9/11?

Yeah, about that guy… NYDN:

The former imam of the controversial “Ground Zero” mosque used millions of dollars in donations to fund a lavish lifestyle of travel and cars, a bombshell lawsuit charges.

The court papers, filed Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, allege that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf pocketed $3 million from the Malaysian government and another $167,000 from private donors.

The money — intended to fund a pair of non-profits — was used by Rauf and his wife Daisy Khan to buy real estate, pricey trips and vacations, entertainment and a luxury sports car, the suit charged.

“Rauf exhibited the falsity … and deception to defraud plaintiffs and divert assets to himself,” read the 11-page lawsuit filed by the charitable Deak Family Foundation, Westchester County businessman Robert Deak and his wife Moshira Soliman.

I’m sure it’s all above-board.

The Ground Zero Mosque is still happening, right? It would be a shame if they didn’t build it, after the left expended so much energy arguing that it had to be built or else this was no longer America. Wouldn’t want a good scolding to go to waste.
