In an interview with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas, Fox News analyst Juan Williams said the United States is a changing nation, and decried what he suggested is its increasing culture of dependency.
“It’s more than government changing. I think the country is changing,” he said. “There are huge changes going on, demographically. … You look at who is most discomforted by the changes taking place in the society, and it tends to be older white Americans — and especially people outside the big cities. They just don’t understand all this change. …”
“When it comes to government, this is where I think I find agreement with those folks,” Williams said. “When you see that you can somehow either rely on government for all your needs, or cheat and take advantage of some welfare structure or whatever, and that is the way you want to live your life … you wear away, it seems to me, at the foundation of who we are as an American people.”
