Forget blowing up the Big East.

Forget the final installment of historic rivalries.

Forget the excitement that always surrounds the Big East Tournament in Madison Square Garden.

The thought going through every college basketball fan’s mind right now: DID YOU SEE THOSE JERSEYS!?!?!?

The Cincinnati and Notre Dame basketball teams donned some absolutely atrocious uniforms in their games yesterday that have the sports world abuzz.

These jerseys were not your ordinary ugly uniforms. They are not outdated throwbacks or mildly unsightly. These require all viewers to have a bottle of Pepto close at hand.

See the jerseys up close here and here. Hint: The words “neon” and “camouflage” should never have to appear in the same sentence.

ESPN’s “Pardon The Interruption” even dedicated a portion of their show to come up with a word that most accurately described the Cincinnati unis (Notre Dame would not tip off until after the show had aired). Hosts Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon came up with “ghastly” and “pukey,” respectively.

Kornheiser added “They are horrifying. They belong in a clown college. I can’t believe, really, how terrible they are. The only ones worse than Cincinnati’s — I saw a picture of these — the possibility of Notre Dame breaking out the mint green uniforms. I don’t know who designed these things. The shorts are particularly terrible.”

In the likely case that you want to avoid accidentally stumbling upon another team wearing these things, the other teams in the promotional picture unveiling the uniform lineup are Baylor, Kansas, Louisville and UCLA.

Kansas students have even started a White House petition to ban the jerseys. Not the worst idea.
