President Barack Obama held a congratulatory press conference this afternoon with the NHL champion Los Angeles Kings and the MLS champion Los Angeles Galaxy.

Obama jokingly suggesting that his meeting with the Galaxy after their 2011 championship win helped propel the team to a repeat title in 2012.

The president made sure to note his Chicago loyalties while speaking about the Kings, congratulating them on both winning the 2012 Stanley Cup and defeating his hometown Chicago Blackhawks last night.

Obama received a Galaxy jersey and soccer ball from the MLS champs, who were led by former Team USA coach Bruce Arena and Team USA star Landon Donovan. He immediately tossed the ball in the air, gave it a quick header, and caught it to show off his soccer skills.

He was also given a No. 44 Kings jersey by the Stanley Cup winners before snapping pictures with each team.
