Yesterday we learned that Michael Bloomberg’s gun-grabbing group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns*, has produced TV ads that promote unsafe gun handling. But that’s just the beginning of the danger MAIG poses to society.
A few weeks ago, MAIG released this ad:
And now some of its members are making news for other reasons. Washington Free Beacon:
Mayors Against Illegal Guns member and Democratic Gainesville, Fla., Mayor Craig Lowe was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and property damage after police found him asleep in his car at the scene of a crash last Thursday…
Lowe was one of 30 mayors featured in a recent ad released by Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a gun-restriction lobbying group led by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Note that in MAIG’s ad seen above, Lowe was the one who got to use the murder of children to further Bloomberg’s political goals by intoning: “Newtown.”
But wait, there’s more. Fox 29 in Philadelphia, 4/21/13:
The Delaware County DA’s office has announced that James Schiliro, the mayor of Marcus Hook, has been arrested…
Earlier this week, the Delco Times reported that the borough council and the Republican Party asked Schiliro to resign following a drunken encounter with a 20-year-old man, which resulted in the discharge of a firearm.
According to court documents, the mayor is accused of having a police officer pick up a 20-year-old friend in a police cruiser and bring him to his home. Inside, the mayor allegedly served the minor alcohol and asked for sexual favors.
When the man refused, the mayor allegedly told him he was a hostage and fired his gun inside of the home, court documents said.
MAIG has now dropped Schiliro. Guess the gun was illegal.
*Is anybody for illegal guns? (Besides criminals who don’t hold public office, of course.) Why not just call it Mayors Against Bad Stuff? MABS. “Don’t get even, get MABS.” Etc.
