A Buffalo Wild Wings in Manassas refused to serve cops

I’ll give you three guesses why, and the first two don’t count.

Yep, you got it. WWBT in Richmond, VA:

A server at Buffalo Wild Wings reportedly refused to serve eight police officers, because they had their weapons displayed.

The Prince William County Police officers were on-duty, but were in plain clothes, reports the Manassas Patch. They were refused service by an employee who stated that the property was a gun-free establishment…

Scott Lupton, the general manager of the Manassas Buffalo Wild Wings location says the incident was a “huge misunderstanding.” Lupton wrote an email to the police department to apologize on behalf of the business…

“… There is no reason why those officers should have been asked to leave … police officers are always welcome in my establishment and even though we do have a no gun policy, as a company that excludes off duty police officer,” Lupton wrote. “As a company we are community oriented. We appreciate everything that police officers do for us.”

It’s good that this guy is apologizing so profusely. He doesn’t want BWW to get a reputation for hating cops. But why did this waitperson server think it was a good idea?

I blame society. “Guns are bad. Guns kill children. Get rid of all the guns.” Get that loop running in some people’s heads and it knocks out their common sense, apparently.

If that place got robbed, or somebody just barged in and started shooting up with place, who would they have rather had sitting there: unarmed cops or armed cops?

Gun-free zones are the safest places around. A guy doesn’t have to worry about anybody shooting at him as he’s committing a crime.
