As the full impact of the federal budget cuts from the sequester continue to roll out, Americans are learning that the Navy’s Blue Angels may be skipping their city this year.

“CBS News has learned that the Navy has canceled the remaining 2013 performances of its precision flying team, the Blue Angels, one of the most visible signs yet of sequestration cuts,” CBS San Francisco reported Tuesday.

In San Francisco, the Blue Angels traditionally kicked off the annual Fleet Week when the Navy docks their ships for a week to bring awareness on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Preparedness

“The team of F/A-18 Hornet jets traditionally roar across the San Francisco skyline during the annual Fleet Week celebration,” CBS writes.

The Blue Angel’s tour was expected to run from now until mid-November, stopping at 33 different cities across the country.

Only two shows were done in 2013, in El Centro, Calif., and Key West, Fla.
