Ex-Rutgers head basketball coach Mike Rice is only a couple weeks removed from becoming the talk of the sports world, after video surfaced of him throwing basketballs at his players and screaming gay slurs.
He was terminated by Rutgers, issued an apology saying there was no excuse for his actions, and promptly returned to the sidelines as a head coach — taking a slight demotion to lead his daughter’s Amateur Athletic Union team of 12-year old girls.
According to tweets from Hoopscritic.com blogger Brian Geltzeiler, Rice was “as crazy as ever yelling @ both refs and kids.”
Parents of kids on the AAU team were reportedly not at all upset Rice was allowed to helm a team of youngsters.
