In the first major sporting event held in Boston since Monday’s marathon bombings, the Boston Bruins pregame ceremonies stole the show.

After a video tribute to the first responders aired on the arena’s video board, members of the Boston Fire Department Honor Guard lined up beside Rene Rancourt, longtime Bruins National Anthem singer.

Rancourt sang through the “What so proudly” line before turning things over to the Boston crowd who sung the rest of the anthem in unison, loud and proud.

Once the anthem was completed, claps, tear-wiping, and the obligatory “U-S-A!” chant finished out the pregame festivities.

Best of luck avoiding chills.
