Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Robert Guerrero are set to fight this Saturday for the welterweight title.
As per boxing tradition, things got a little heated at the pre-bout press conference.
Usually there is some melodramatic standoff or some choice words between the two fighters.
But this time, it was a dad that got the biggest soundbite.
Robert Guerrero’s father and trainer, Ruben Guerrero, stepped to the podium and repeatedly called his son’s opponent a wife- and woman-beater.
Mayweather spent two months in jail last year for domestic abuse, an offense that the elder Guerrero decided was best kept as public as possible.
Guerrero began his speech with about a thousand words of absolutely nothing before launching into a tirade against Mayweather’s history of domestic abuse.
Guess Guerrero wanted to get some punches of his own in before his son steps into the ring.
