The Chicago Cubs can use all the help they can get. They are already clearly the worst team in the NL Central and that World Series-less streak looks ready to keep on chugging.
With that in mind, recently acquired outfielder Julio Borbon decided he’d try to help the cause by attempting to fake his way on base.
Too bad the internet exists and people love making GIFs of athletes caught in embarrassing moments.
This GIF shows Borbon at bat as a pitch whizzes by his feet. Borbon watches the ball, checks out his surroundings, weighs a few pros and cons, and then begins hopping around with the agony of not being hit by a pitch.
The ump did not buy the sales pitch and made Borbon continue hitting. The at bat ended in a ground out to second base.
