Baseball players are often seen making highlight plays jumping in the outfield with outstretched arms, glove above the height of the fence to rob a hitter of a home run.

Very rarely do we see players running through the fence.

At least, not in baseball.

In softball however, that happened just yesterday.

Ohio University outfielder Alyssa Wolfe made a great catch to rob a Miami (OH) hitter of what would have been a game-winning two-run home run in the MAC softball tournament.

To be honest, the term “fence” is used pretty loosely here. Not quite sure exactly what that fence is made out of, but it doesn’t appear to be all that sturdy. More like a flimsy tennis net tied to flexible posts.

Still, great catch in a clutch situation.
