Police have arrested Caleb Lawrence McGillvary — also known as Kai, the homeless, hatchet-wielding hitchhiker — on murder charges, CNN reports.

McGillvary is suspected of murdering Union County, N.J., attorney Joseph Galfy, who was found dead in his home May 13 with blunt-force trauma wounds.

McGillvary became an Internet celebrity back in February after saving a woman from another crazed maniac in Fresno, Calif. (RELATED: Hatchet-wielding hero now wanted for murder)

New Jersey police issued a public call for help in finding McGillvary on Thursday. He was apprehended at a Greyhound station in Philadelphia.

Investigators say that McGillvary and Galfy appeared to have had a sexual relationship. McGillvary reportedly cut off his long dreadlocks in an attempt to go incognito following Galfy’s murder.

Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow urged the Public to help find McGillvary.

“This man was well-known. That doesn’t mean he did not or could not become involved in a crime,” Romankow said during a Thursday press conference. “We believe he has murdered someone — an attorney by the way who was in the county, was well respected, well regarded for well over 40 years.”

“As far as we’re concerned, I don’t care who he is. We’re looking for him.”
