Cavs win NBA Draft Lottery, rights to draft torn ACL/flat-top

In last night’s NBA Draft Lottery, the Cleveland Cavaliers technically were the big winners, snagging the No. 1 overall draft pick.

This draft class is considered to be good — not great — and fairly deep, with none of the top 10 players really separating themselves from one another.

Widely considered to be the top choice, University of Kentucky center Nerlens Noel, is coming off of a torn ACL and a skinny-as-can-be weight measurement at the draft combine. But, he does have a wicked flat-top so we can forget all that.

The Orlando Magic, who had the best odds at landing the top overall draft choice, dropped one spot and will pick second.

The Washington Wizards made the big jump from the eighth best chance at securing the top pick to snagging the third overall pick.

Of course, everyone assumes the whole system is rigged and nobody knows yet what trades will shuffle up the draft order and nobody actually knows how good these draft picks will end up being, but for a few minutes the teams that didn’t sniff the postseason get a little attention.
