Over 80,000 people have now signed a petition on the White House website demanding the pardon of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden.

Additionally, the petition StopWatching.us, which demands that the U.S. Congress “reveal the full extent of the NSA’s spying programs” acquired 190,145 as of 11:07pm ET on Sunday evening.

On Friday, privacy activists associated with the StopWatching.us coaltion held a Reddit AMA – Ask Me Anything, a forum in which members of the Reddit community are able to ask an expert, politician or celebrity questions.

Users were encouraged to sign petitions and increase national and international support for investigations into government spying programs.
