Dwight Howard’s decision to either stay with the L.A. Lakers or head to the Houston Rockets got political after the mayor of Houston tweeted at him Tuesday.

@anniseparker Hey @dwighthoward: we have @jharden13, a great economy, exciting city and super Rockets fans. What are you waiting for?-A

It’s not just the mayor: Yao Ming and Hakeem Olajuwon have also done their part to try and get the free agent to play for Houston. Even rapper Slim Thug tweeted at Howard, writing,

@slimthugga Yooo @DwightHoward what uppp gone come down to Houston G we got ya u already know Kobe gone act like a girl and blame u all season

Wait they get better….

@slimthugga We real out here u can buy a big ass crib for cheap ill throw u a few assist on hoes make your next move your best move G @DwightHoward

@slimthugga Have u ever been to @dreamshouston or V-Live @DwightHoward ??? LA ain’t got strippers like we do

Slim Thug tweeted nine times at Howard within 30 minutes. But it’s not like L.A. has been trying to shove Howard out the door. Last week, they put up this sign in an attempt to convince Howard to stay:

It must feel good to be wanted.
