Keith Olbermann is now “in serious discussions” about hosting a late-night talk show on ESPN2 , The New York Daily News reports.

The former SportsCenter and MSNBC anchor was fired from Current TV last year and replaced by disgraced New York comptroller candidate, Eliot Spitzer.

The always uninhibited Olbermann has drawn criticisms in the past for calling Fox News worse than Al Qaeda, blaming Rush Limbaugh for the Waco bombings and accusing tea party Republicans of trying to march the country towards Jim Crow.

Olbermann is already in an agreement with Turner Sports to co-host their postseason baseball coverage.

The move by ESPN is viewed as a response to Fox’s August launch of Fox Sports 1.
