Volatile asshole and former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is back in the news after reports surfaced that he allegedly fathered the child of a New York Times and Rolling Stone reporter.
According to the New York Daily News, an anonymous, $3 million paternity suit was filed in Manhattan Family Court. That suit, sources say, was filed by rock reporter Liza Ghorbani.
Ghorbani profiled the “Wonderwall” singer for the Times back in 2010 and apparently did much more than just interview the singer: She claims to have given birth to their love child in January 2013.
“He started an affair with her that night — they took a few months off, then started again,” an unnamed friend of Ghorbani’s told the Daily News.
Ghorbani was reporting for the Times’ “Night Out with…” feature where reporters go to bars or restaurants with celebrities, and in this case, wake up next to them in the morning.
The source continued, “It went on until she told him she was pregnant. He cut it off. He was so paranoid his wife would find out.”
Gallagher was once half of the British pop duo Oasis, along with his brother Noel. Liam was notoriously difficult to deal with and often started physical fights with his older brother, sometimes onstage.
The band broke up in 2009, with Noel saying that Liam is “rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy. He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”
Since then, Gallagher started the band Beady Eye, which nobody has ever heard of. He has three children (well, four now) with many different women, and has been married since 2008 to a woman who looks astonishingly similar to the Times and Rolling Stone reporter.
In Ghorbani’s 2010 article on Gallagher, he is quoted as saying: “Not a lot of people look cool these days — like my cool.”
Neither Ghorbani’s lawyer or Gallagher’s publicist returned the Daily News’ calls for comment.
