According to a campus police report, Middle Tennessee State football player J.D. Jones was arrested after choking his girlfriend while teammates videotaped the entire episode.

Jones was arrested on two counts of domestic aggravated assault. His teammates, Rodney O’Neal and Marcus Robinson, the videographers, were arrested on charges of criminal responsibility for conduct of others, DNJ.com reports. Ex-student and ex-girlfriend Ronni Cantrell has reported other episodes of abuse that usually didn’t end until Cantrell gave money to Jones for drugs.

All three have been suspended from the team. “We will react accordingly after gathering all pertinent information,”  Middle Tennessee Head Coach Rick Stockstill said.

Athletic director, Chris Massaro, in a statement said: “These are obviously troubling charges and these players will remain suspended while Public Safety and Judicial Affairs continue their investigations.”
